In DeSoto ISD,  we want to ensure that our families have access to accurate information regarding the COVID-19 Vaccination.

In order to receive the vaccine, all individuals must register and receive an appointment before arriving at a vaccination site. The vaccine is being distributed in stages and Dallas County is currently providing the vaccine to individuals in the 1B category at this time.

Phase 1B Category includes the following: People 65+ or people 16+ with a health condition that increases the risk of severe COVID‑19 illness, including but not limited to:

  • Cancer

  • Chronic kidney disease

  • COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)

  • Down Syndrome

  • Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies

  • Organ transplantation

  • Obesity

  • Pregnancy

  • Sickle cell disease

  • Type 2 diabetes

While it is not required, Dallas County recommends that those interested in receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine register with their county of residence.

If you live in a county other than Dallas, you can click here to access information for your county.

Dallas County launched two new COVID-19 information resources to support the vaccination process:

  • The website www.DallasCountyCovid.org provides information and updates on vaccination eligibility and locations.

  • Dallas County opened a new covid-19 vaccine registration hotline 1-855-immune9 (1-855-466-8639) to support community registration. This is a call center that will operate from 7 AM to 7 PM, 7 days a week.
