Hybrid Learning

DeSoto ISD is awaiting the passage of HB 1468 which will authorize school districts to establish a local remote learning program and offer virtual courses through that program. The bill will also allow districts to earn Foundation School Program (FSP) funding based on the time a student participates in virtual learning provided through the hybrid campus as a full-time student in average daily attendance.

If the legislation passes and the state approves virtual and hybrid learning, this means that DeSoto ISD can move forward with our plans for a hybrid campus which includes both in-person and remote (both synchronous and asynchronous) learning opportunities for students while receiving full FSP funding for all students.

If the legislation does not pass, the district will revise the plan for this campus and communicate changes to the community.
