DESOTO - DeSoto ISD is excited to announce its athletic media partnership with Metro Sports Communications which allows fans to listen to a live play-by-play of all games on KSKY 660-AM radio and online during the entire season!

The DeSoto Eagles Football radio broadcast, presented by Freeman Honda, is powered by Metro Sports Communications and will include a one-hour Countdown to Kickoff, featuring player interviews, coaches’ interviews, and pre-game analysis.

“Metro Sports DFW is the industry leader in high school sports broadcasting in the area and state. They have revolutionized the high school game broadcast to one that is identical to many Division I college football programs,” said Mathis. “The DeSoto Eagles will join only one other high school team in Texas that has this kind of exposure.”

A 40-minute post-game show, featuring interviews from the field with DeSoto ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Claude Mathis, the offensive and defensive players-of-the-game, game highlights, statistics will follow the live broadcast.

“We are very excited to add the DeSoto Eagles to our broadcast family. We have been looking for just the right team to join Southlake Carroll on this major-market platform, and DeSoto fits perfectly,” said Chuck Kelly of Texas Metro Communications.  “The Eagles are a tradition-rich program in a community that cares about excellence.”

The Eagles’ broadcast crew will feature three DFW radio celebrities on the play-by-play call: John Liddle, Donovan Lewis, and Jean Jacques Taylor. During each live broadcast, two student-athletes will be celebrated for their performance both in the classroom and on the field, and learn about local businesses supporting Eagles radio.

“I am proud to be a part of something that will bring positive exposure to not only our football program and student-athletes, but the entire DeSoto ISD and the All-American City of DeSoto as well,” said Mathis.

DeSoto ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. D’Andre J. Weaver is proud of this opportunity to promote our students and the Desoto Eagles Football program and feels that it is coming to fruition at the right time.

“I’m so excited to experience a high school football program broadcasted via AM radio. This partnership is a great opportunity to elevate the hard work of our amazing coaches and our talented students, said Dr. Weaver. “With the continuing limitations resulting from the pandemic, the Eagle broadcast is also an on-time option for our very supportive fans who may be unable to attend a game.”

This season, the Eagle Radio experience is made possible by its title sponsor, Freeman Honda.

Other current partners include MW Logistics, Senator Royce West and West & Associates LLP, Texas Trust Credit Union, D.A.P.P.S., Access Self Storage, Leticia Hughes and The Hughes Group, Chalamain Armstrong and Gold Financial, Miller Title, Neely Chiropractic and Sport, Hatley Brothers II Roofing and Construction, Pape’s AC and Heating, SSC Services, The City of DeSoto and Community Missionary Baptist Church.
