DeSoto ISD has secured grant funding to assist in providing after-school care for a limited number of district students in grades Pre-K through 5. Recognizing the ongoing need for childcare, especially for families with students in these grades, the focus of the program includes ensuring student safety, providing homework help, fostering student engagement, and offering financial assistance.
The after-school programs will be available at the following campuses:
The district has partnered with area childcare service providers to create afterschool programs on the grounds of the campuses listed, so there will be no additional transportation requirement, and parents will be able to pick up their children at the same drop-off location. Interested parents may contact their student’s school principal or counselor to discuss qualifications and payment options.
In addition to on-campus child care, a list of district reviewed providers can be found by clicking here.
The after-school programs will run through the last day of school. Parents are invited to share feedback regarding the after-school program providers using this link.
For more information, parents may contact their student’s campus.
