DeSoto ISD has officially opened enrollment for the 2025–2026 school year and is encouraging all new and returning families to register early at www.DeSotoISD.org/Enrollment. Returning students are required to re-enroll, and early registration helps the district plan for staffing and resources.

DeSoto ISD will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 16 at 6:30 PM to present its proposed 2025 fiscal year budget and tax rate. The hearing will take place during the monthly Board of Trustees meeting at the DeSoto ISD Administration Building. Community members are encouraged to attend and provide feedback. The meeting will also be streamed live on the district’s website.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, DeSoto ISD is spotlighting its commitment to student and staff wellness through the launch of campus-based “Zen Dens”—restorative spaces designed for reflection, emotional regulation, and self-care.

Curtistene S. McCowan Fine Arts Magnet Academy is offering dance opportunities for the 2025–2026 school year through both class enrollment and auditions for the Performing Dance Company.

DeSoto High School will host its 2025 Summer Choir Camp, themed “Come Sing With Us!”, from July 28 to August 1 at the high school campus.

DeSoto High School recently held its annual Mr. & Miss DeSoto Scholarship Pageant at the Fred Nickels Auditorium, celebrating student excellence, leadership, and community service.

DeSoto ISD has been awarded a $1.7 million grant from Educate Texas and the Texas Instruments Foundation as part of a broader $7.2 million investment in STEM education.
