In accordance with Texas Senate Bill 12 (Section 26.0062 of the Texas Education Code), the DeSoto Independent School District now provides public access to the instructional plans for all grade levels and subject areas. Divided by grade level bands and content areas, each posted syllabus outlines the key learning objectives, essential standards, and instructional materials used throughout the semester.
Parents and guardians are welcome to view the skills and topics their child will explore in reading, math, science, and social studies. This transparency supports the essential school-to-home connection of our students, teachers, and families by making the learning goals clear from the start. Each syllabus also highlights enrichment activities and cross-curricular learning designed to build strong foundational skills.
By making this information more accessible, DeSoto ISD hopes that our parents can stay actively engaged in their child’s education as we partner together in the education of our scholars. The instructional plans are posted at the beginning of each semester for families to explore, support student growth, and celebrate their scholar's learning milestones.
