DeSoto Independent School District will host a Pre-College Fair for scholars and families in Grades 6-11 on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM at the Belt Line Conference Center located behind the district’s administration building located at 200 E. Belt Line Road in DeSoto. This event is designed to showcase a variety of summer opportunities, including academic programs and arts-focused experiences, as part of the district’s Triple A Summer Experience.
The fair is not tied to the district’s traditional college fair. Instead, it offers a standalone opportunity for families to explore summer enrichment programs that extend beyond the conclusion of DeSoto ISD’s June summer programming. Many of these programs run into mid-July and include residential programs for high school students on college campuses, providing academic, social-emotional, and arts-based enrichment.
“Our goal is to highlight and expose our scholars to meaningful summer experiences that strengthen academic skills, creativity, and personal growth,” said Dr. Calvin Green, College Driven Gear Up Grant Program Director. “This event allows community and academic partners to connect directly with students and families about opportunities that prepare them for future success.”
The Pre-College Fair reflects the district’s commitment to equitable access to summer programming and aims to help families identify programs that continue learning and enrichment beyond the school year. Participating scholars will gain insight into a wide range of options, from rigorous academic programs to creative arts experiences, while families can engage with program representatives and ask questions about application processes, schedules, and program expectations.
