DeSoto Independent School District has officially released
its academic calendar for the 2025–2026 school year, following its approval by
the Board of Trustees during a recent public meeting. The calendar was
developed with input from a broad-based advisory committee composed of
students, parents, educators, and community stakeholders to ensure it reflects
the priorities and needs of the district’s diverse school community.
Key dates for the upcoming school year include:
Staff Convocation: Monday,

First Day of School for

Fall Break: October 14–17,

Last Day of School for Students
(Early Release): Friday, May 22, 2026
Teachers and instructional staff will engage in professional
development and planning days in early August to ensure a strong and
well-prepared start to the new academic year.
