From fresh turf to improved courts and tracks, DeSoto ISD students and families are beginning to see the results of bond-funded athletic projects taking shape across the district.
Work continues at several athletic facilities as DeSoto ISD moves forward with projects included in the voter-approved 2025 Bond Program, which is bringing renovations and upgrades to campuses and athletic spaces throughout the district.
At DeSoto High School, work on the track is nearing completion, providing Eagle track and field athletes with an updated surface for training and competition.The high school tennis courts have also been resurfaced and restriped, giving student-athletes an improved space to practice and compete.
At the district’s Multipurpose Center, or MPC, new turf has been installed on the practice field. The project is part of a broader series of athletic upgrades designed to enhance spaces used by DeSoto ISD student-athletes throughout the year.
Progress is also underway at Curtistene S. McCowan Middle School, where demolition work has begun at the track. The project will include a new track surface and striping, expanding access to improved athletic facilities for younger Eagles.
The projects are among the visible signs of construction connected to the district’s 2025 Bond Program, approved by DeSoto voters in May 2025. The bond includes investments in campuses, academic spaces and athletic facilities across DeSoto ISD.
For students, the work represents more than new surfaces. The projects are creating spaces where Eagles can train, compete, develop their skills and represent their schools.
As construction continues across the district, DeSoto ISD will continue sharing progress with families and the community as additional bond projects reach new milestones.
