DeSoto ISD Presents Designed & Delivered by DeSoto ISD Professional Learning Conference

The DeSoto Independent School District Leadership and Learning Department is excited to bring the first Designed and Delivered by DeSoto Professional Learning Conference. Known as D3, this district-facilitated professional development conference for all district employees, set to take place Monday, August 9 and Tuesday August 10 at DeSoto High School.
“As we prepare to extend in-person instruction following the COVID-19 pandemic, it is vital to focus on professional growth,” said Chief Academic Officer Dr. Mya Asberry. “Students will be returning with academic and social-emotional needs that will challenge teachers and staff professionally and personally. The DeSoto ISD Leadership and Learning Department is striving to ensure that all staff are prepared to begin the school year focused and ready to deliver at the highest level across the district.”
The focus of this year's D3 Conference is leveraging engagement across and Beyond DeSoto ISD. The theme of the conference is “Spotlight on Learning.” The conference is designed to create an elevated professional learning experience that targets adults at all levels across our district through the lens of engagement and learning. The conference will feature two session strands -- “Engaging Across the Curriculum” and “Engaging Through Relationships.” The professional learning sessions will be delivered by DeSoto ISD staff members and partners to offer specialized sessions for every grade group, content area, and department throughout our organization.
Leaders, teachers, and staff members will have the opportunity to participate in real-world learning experiences that can be implemented in classrooms, campuses, front offices, and administrative capacities throughout the academic year during the two-day professional development training conference.
