Save the Date: Students Invited to Register for Campus Activities at Aug. 1 DHS Program-Focused Showcase
As the DeSoto Independent School District gears up to launch an exciting school year, the district’s flagship campus is excited to invite its school community to a program-focused showcase around the Triple-A Experience--the district’s well-rounded and holistic approach to education centered on Academics, Arts and Athletics.
Starting at 5:30 pm on August 1, 2024, at the campus located at 600 Eagle Drive in DeSoto, new, current and prospective families and scholars are invited to engage in an immersive experience to sign up for and learn more about the wide range of programs available to scholars at DeSoto High School including but not limited to:

DeSoto ISD takes steps forward toward excellence with higher TEA letter ratings each year, making DeSoto ISD one of the higher-rated school systems in the Best Southwest. K-12 young scholars offer hands-on, project-based learning that includes system-wide STEM implementation, immersive dual language programs, early childhood programs, and increased access to tech-based curricula. We teach 21st-century learning skills as one of the metroplex’s largest offerings in career and technical education.

Arts
Students interested in an arts-focused education benefit from DeSoto ISD's arts-immersive curriculum. The Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) named DeSoto ISD one of the best communities for arts education six years in a row. With a multitude of fine arts disciplines, art scholars travel and compete nationally and internationally. Highly decorated instructors, like Grammy-nominated and Grammy Award-winning choir director Pamela Dawson, lead our internationally traveled choir. Many dance ensembles compete at the national and state level, one winning a 2023 state championship title. Band members can join jazz and performance programs that prepare them for band at the collegiate level. DeSoto theater programs complete full-scale productions to provide students with classical and contemporary performing experience.

Athletics
DeSoto ISD prepares collegiate-level athletes on and off the field. The district has won more than 20 state championships. DeSoto High School’s athletics program is a regular machine for producing scholar-athletes who transition to college athletics at renowned colleges and universities. Some athletes go on to compete professionally at the national and international level. Notably, DeSoto ISD has produced professional athletes across multiple sports like Von Miller and Patrick Crayton who both play/played in the NFL.
