DeSoto ISD PK-12 Standards of Dress Guidelines

Student attire in the DeSoto Independent School District is meant to promote a positive, professional learning environment where the focus is on learning and not on clothing. In following the established guidelines, campus principals will have complete judgement on matters concerning interpretation of the dress guidelines. Students who persistently violate these guidelines will be held accountable following the DeSoto ISD Student Code of Conduct.

**Students are not allowed to wear to school: Pajamas, leggings or tights as outerwear (unless under a skirt), hats or caps (unless for religious or medical reasons), extreme jewelry, visible body piercing except ears, or any item lewd/offensive in nature, gang-related or that contains excessive holes.

Backpacks: There is no stipulation/requirement regarding back pack color/material.
