During the June 17, 2024, DeSoto Independent School District Board Meeting, trustees voted to select new officers following the recent election cycle. Because the district did not have an election in May, officers were selected in June per the Board’s operating guidelines.
The following trustees were appointed leadership positions on the Board:
- President: Chasiti McKissic
- Vice President: James Durham
- Secretary: Cynthia Watson-Banks
- TASA/TASB Delegate: Abe Cooper Jr.
- TASA/TASB Alternative: Karen Lacy
- TASB Regional Board Representative: Abe Cooper Jr.
The previous body of board officers were as follows:

- Secretary: Traci McNairy
- TASA/TASB Delegate: DeAndrea Fleming*

The DeSoto Independent School District Board of Trustees installed new member Eboni Mitchell, Place 6, and incumbent board member Traci McNairy, Place 7, during the Monday, May 13, 2024, special called board meeting.
Dallas County Justice of the Peace (Precinct 1 - Place 1) Thomas G. Jones hosted the swearing-in ceremony for the installation.
