Congratulations to DeSoto ISD School Board president DeAndrea Fleming, who has been selected as one of the Courageous Woman Magazine’s top 50 Courageous Women in Business, Leadership, and Entertainment based on her service and the support of others.  She is accurately described in the magazine article as a “Servant Leader. Solutionist. Powerhouse.”

Courageous Woman magazine features inspirational stories about women who have gained noteworthy success in many fields and industries including, entertainment, medicine, education, and more, from historical legends to celebrities and entrepreneurs. The magazine is available in print and digital online, and The Courageous Woman Radio Show has grown to have over 1 Million listeners.

Fleming is the CEO and Founder of Mark of Resilience, an educational coaching and consulting company. She is a Certified Resilience and Business Coach, Speaker, and Consulting “Edu”preneur devoted to helping women and girls (ages 9 and up), thrive through life’s pressures and transitions. She inspires clients to DREAM BIGGER and ACHIEVE MORE in spite of the ACTS of life (Adversity, Challenges, Trauma, Stress) they might face.

As a 9-year breast cancer survivor, Fleming stated she imagined death around her every day as the stench of failure lurked over her head, but intuitively she knew there was purpose in her pain. She now motivates others to live with intention and purpose because “life is about the choices we make, overcoming the circumstances, and getting to know and love our authentic selves.”

In addition to her service to DeSoto ISD, Fleming is a mom of two, and has over 22 years in the educational industry.

DeSoto ISD applauds the courageous service President Fleming has provided to the district, including leading the Board to transition the district’s accountability rating from a “D” in 2018 to a “B” in 2022.
