The DeSoto Independent School District trustees and administration announce a new cadence for its school board meetings for the upcoming 22-23 academic school year.

The monthly school board meeting format will transition into two meetings per month - a Progress Monitoring Data Meeting and a General Business meeting. The meetings will be held on the third and fourth Mondays of each month, respectively.

During the monthly Progress Monitoring Data meetings, school board trustees and the superintendent will review the district board goals and monitor the Administration’s progress. Additionally, the district administration will acknowledge student and staff groups who have attained measurable milestones as it relates to the monthly board goal focus. The monthly School Board Business meeting will be tailored to the board’s information, discussion, and action agenda items.

During both meetings, public comments related to agenda and non-agenda items will be allowed. All comment cards must be submitted to the board prior to the start of the board meeting and all submissions must be read by the submitting party.

The DeSoto ISD school board will continue with its series of Bi-Monthly Town Halls which are set to begin in September 2022 and through June 2023 according to the schedule on the district website.

The goal of these adjustments is to provide the district leaders and the school community with a more streamlined, substantive, and efficient meeting experience. The new schedule will begin with the first Progress Monitoring Data meeting on September 19, 2022.
