The DeSoto Independent School District is proud to announce its upcoming Saturday, March 23, 2024, Going for Gold Academic Exploration Event set to take place from 9 am to Noon at DeSoto High School Academy Cafeteria at 600 Eagle Drive in DeSoto.
Going for the Gold: An Academic Exploration Event is designed to immerse students and families in a fun, competitive space that encourages critical thinking for reading and mathematics subjects. This event will feature an “Eagle Bowl” and other competitive sessions guided by DeSoto ISD educators. As students and families compete for the gold, they will also have access to free food, resources, and information that support academic achievement.
The event will feature activities for students and families at every grade level from prekindergarten through grade 12. The mission of this event is to engage students and families in hands-on activities, information, and resources that promote the mastery of math- and reading-focused skills.
Going for the Gold: An Academic Exploration Event will provide enriching opportunities for students and families across DeSoto ISD who aim to grow in reading and mathematics. Further, this event entices students to sharpen their skills for the upcoming STAAR, EOC, and EOY assessments.
