As DeSoto ISD begins its search for the next Head Girls Basketball Coach, the district would like to ensure that it clearly communicates the process.
Selecting the right leader is critical to the success of any program whether considering an academic or athletic appointment. DeSoto ISD understands that the decision it makes now will have a lasting effect for years to come. Therefore, this is not a decision that the district will make in isolation.
The DeSoto ISD school community wants a strong leader with the ability to maintain and enhance the program’s powerhouse position resulting in student-athlete collegiate recruitment. DeSoto ISD seeks someone who cares about its students and will engage with them, their parents, and the community. The initial profile also seeks a candidate who will build and manage the program in alignment with the district's goals and expectations.
To ensure an inclusive, objective process, the district will seek input from various groups including students, staff, parents, community members, alumni, and collegiate coaches. Some of these efforts have already taken place and will continue as we seek to develop a more comprehensive profile for the ideal candidate.
