Credit by Exam
Credit by Exam(CBE) is an assessment option which affords students the opportunity for promotion to the next grade level(K-5) and to gain course credit(6-12)
1. Acceleration
Students meeting the 80% standard can be considered for grade level promotion(K-8) or can attain course credits (9-12). In order to qualify for this type of CBE, a student cannot have any prior instruction in the grade level or course for which they are seeking credit.
2. Examination for Placement
What is Exam for Placement?
Under School Board Policy FDA, transfer students from nonaccredited private schools/home schools are required to validate courses for credit by testing in those courses. Valid home schooling exempts a student from compulsory attendance laws, but does not mean public schools shall accept home schooling curricula as meeting the state standards without verification through objective testing.
Students meeting the 70% standard can be given credit for the subject/grade. See Grading Policy for additional details.
